Role description
The successful candidate will be responsible for translating the ideas and concepts developed by the designer into three-dimensional models and detailed technical drawings. Using Creo software, the Technical Draftsperson will develop the aesthetic concept through to the complete mechanical design of the product, ensuring its technical feasibility, manufacturability and the correct integration of components.
Key responsibilities
- Translate styling concepts into 3D models using Creo.
- Technical design of appliances, defining geometries according to technical constraints and internal components (motor, heating element, PCB, etc.).
- Assess and resolve critical issues related to component manufacturability, with particular focus on plastic moulding techniques and in-line assembly.
- Manage technical relations with mould suppliers and with subcontractors responsible for component moulding.
- Produce technical drawings and complete construction drawings for production.
- Create technical exploded views for spare parts documentation.
- Define and design packaging: box, carton and palletisation.
- Work with the industrialisation, quality and supply chain departments to ensure consistency between design, production and assembly.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' experience in similar roles in the household appliance, plastics or related sectors.
- Excellent command of Creo software (3D modelling and drafting).
- Knowledge of injection moulding technologies and design-for-manufacturability principles.
- Ability to liaise with suppliers and internal departments with a technical problem-solving approach.
- Attention to detail, precision, autonomy and ability to work in a team.
